- 1 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness. Cut into shapes using cookie cutters.
Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
