- 2 green plantains peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
- to taste salt
Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Add the plantain pieces to the pan and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove the plantains from the pan and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Using a flat surface (like the bottom of a glass), press each plantain piece to flatten it.
Return the flattened plantains to the pan and fry again until crispy, about 1-2 minutes per side.
Remove from the pan, drain on paper towels, and season with salt to taste.
