Ingredients

Chicken

  • 4 pieces Chicken thighs bone-in, skin-on

Marinade

  • 2 cups Buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon Hot sauce

Coating

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 quart Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large bowl, combine the buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken pieces and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  2. 2. In another bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. 3. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. 4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, letting the excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coat.
  5. 5. Fry the chicken in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through, about 15-20 minutes. Drain on a wire rack.
  6. 6. Serve hot and enjoy!
