  • 1 cup Rice preferably short-grain
  • 4 cups Milk whole milk for creaminess
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt

Instructions 

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the rice, milk, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring frequently, until the rice is tender and the mixture is thickened, about 30 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Let cool slightly before serving. Can be served warm or chilled.
