Jamaican Beef Patties

- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric
- 1 cup Cold butter, cubed
- ½ cup Ice water
Filling
- 1 lb Ground beef
- 1 small Onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Thyme
- 1 teaspoon Allspice
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ teaspoon Black pepper
- ½ cup Beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Breadcrumbs
- 1 tablespoon Vegetable oil
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and turmeric. Add cold butter and mix until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms. Wrap in plastic and chill for 30 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cook until soft. Add ground beef, thyme, allspice, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until beef is browned. Add beef broth and breadcrumbs, cook until liquid is absorbed. Let cool.
Roll out dough on a floured surface. Cut into circles. Place filling in the center of each circle, fold over and seal edges with a fork.
Place patties on a baking sheet. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
