- 1 pound okra, sliced
- 1 cup cornmeal
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
3. Dip the okra slices in buttermilk, then dredge in the cornmeal mixture.
4. Fry the okra in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
5. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
6. Serve hot and enjoy!
